Happy Birthday...

and Father's Day, as well as First day of Summer and longest day of the year!

Yesterday was Nathan's birthday, as well as Father's Day and the other two mentioned (non) holidays. Ava and I got up early and let Daddy sleep in a bit. We ended up skipping church since Ava has a cold (one she ironically got from the nursery), and instead spent the morning hanging out and letting Nathan open his presents. Around 12:30 we headed to the softball field for Nathan's 1pm game, which they unfornately lost. I think the guys had a great time anyway, I know the wives and kids did!

After we came home, we relaxed for a while, then Nathan went out to get a hair cut.... don't remember the last time he did that. Once he got home we started dinner. I had planned a nice dniner for him, grilled steak and veggies. We had gone and gotten two very nice steaks and were excited to grill... that was until we realized our tank was out of gas, bummer. So Nathan decided to do everything in the skillet, and it turned out wonderfully. Sidenote: I'm going to get a new tank today.

When it was time to eat, I took Ava up for a nap, she was exausted. But recently, she hasn't been wanting to nap, instead she stands in her crib bouncing and shaking the side rail. So after 15 mins. of this, we brought her down and put her in her high chair... this is what happened 5 mins. later.

She didn't sleep long like this, the cat woke her up (funny enough, she slept through the phone ringing, but the dumb cat wakes her, go figure). So we went for a walk and enjoyed the nice temperatures outside. Nathan got a call from his little brother which lasted a good hour, so while they talked I gave Ava a bath and then she went to bed. We rounded out the evening with Razzleberry birthday pie and icecream.
Yesterday was a good day, and much better than last year's birthday when we were moving into our new house. So Nathan is now 26... and for 28 we will be the same age, then I become the "old lady" again.
Happy Birthday Nathan,
&
Happy Father's Day Dads!

So glad y'all had a wonderful day of celebration! Can't believe you've been in the new house for a year already and that Ava will be a year old in just a couple of months. Whoa! We're all growing up too fast...

Hope to see you guys this fall!
