Birthdays...

I find our birthdays to be pretty neat, they line up in the summer, June, July, August, and September.  Since Mom and Dad's  birthdays aren't nearly as interesting, we'll skip ahead to the girls.

We celebrated Ava's 6th birthday this year. She has a love for unicorns and couldn't have been happier that we found a cake with not only a unicorn but a rainbow and light up wand.  (The more items on a cake, the happier Ava is). And to top it off, a tie-dye cake that she thought was super cool.

Ava has a love for My Little Pony, as many girls do.  Her favorite pony is Rainbow Dash so we tried to find a few items specifically of RD.  Earlier in the summer Ava got her ears pierced, an early birthday present, so we also got her a new pair of earrings - dolphins.  Unfortunately the first time she wore them, she lost one outside.  But to our sheer amazement, she was able to find it by the swing set.  She has only worn them once since then.  Ava's big present this year was a camera.  A REAL camera!  For quite some time now she has been borrowing our phones to take pictures of just about anything and everything, so we thought it was time for her own camera.  She had one of those little kid cameras but it doesn't take good pictures.  She was ready for something better.  This came in super handy for our last present which was a trip to Great Wolf Lodge.

This girl LOVES coffee cake, that was her
birthday breakfast request.

Then on September 11, less than two weeks after Ava's birthday, we celebrated Miss Hannah Kate's 1st birthday.  We didn't do anything fancy, but she did get her own Tutu and a special cake.  (Ava's tutu can be seen here.)

she wasn't so sure about it at first.

but if Ava likes it, then surely it's okay to eat!

Cake Joy!

Hannah feels like she has to have or do the same things as Ava, so it was only fair that I tried to make a rainbow cake for her as well!

We had to spend time doing Hannah's favorite
activity on her birthday...  swinging!
