In the last three months, we've celebrated three birthdays, taking a family trip to Idlewild, given Ava her first riding lesson, and started back to school. Things just keep rolling full steam ahead here, and it doesn't look like we're going to be slowing down any time soon... unfortunately. (working on it!)
So, three birthdays... In June we celebrated Daddy's birthday, he entered the last year of his 20s. In July, we celebrated Momma's birthday, she hit the big 30! And saving the best for last, in August we celebrated Ava's birthday. We weren't up for a party this year so instead we went to Idlewild. We had a good time and Ava loved the big kid rides. She tried a couple of the little kid rides, but soon found that they weren't as fun as the other rides, which suited us just fine since that meant we got to ride too.
Then this past week on Memorial Day we took Ava to meet Dixie, one of our "family" horses. Sarah's family has several horses, and Ava's Grampa Fred had been promising Ava she could ride once the weather was nice. But it took us until almost the end of summer to make it all work. The end result... Ava is in LOVE!
