July 4th...

it's become a bit of a tradition for us to take a few days around the 4th of July and head down to the lake. The past couple of years it's been cooler and cloudy, but we've still made the trip to Tygart (last year). This year was the exception, we had 90+ degree days and pure sunshine. The water was the perfect temperature and we spent a lot of time in it. Unfortunately, we didn't get lots of pictures because we were chasing Ava around and playing with her in the water. But hopefully, you'll enjoy what we did manage to get.

If we could be at the lake every weekend in the summer we would be, but since we can't, we try to make the most of it while we are there - probably another reason we don't have many pictures. We hung out with family, ate way too much, took as many boat rides as we could, played like children, set off fireworks, made homemade ice cream and s'mores, and spent hours just relaxing and enjoying our time with everyone. We even made a quick stop in town to see the traveling petting zoo and to have Ava's picture taken with a baby tiger. As you'll see below, Ava wasn't too thrilled about that.
